Ocean Beach Motor Lodge is just across the road from popular Wainui Beach (approximately 100m) which is adjacent to a public access way and it is a 5 minute drive to the centre of Gisborne City.

Gisborne is renowned for its expansive white sandy beaches, award-winning Chardonnay and golden sunrises. In fact, according to the locals, sunrise is the perfect time to enjoy all three! Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the sun rise each day and popular Wainui Beach provides a perfect spot to watch the sky slowly change as the sun bursts from the sea.

Wainui Beach is host to some of New Zealand’s best surf, with many of the country’s most notable surfers raised here in the local community. It isn’t just the surf that is world class; the area is also renowned for a whole host of outdoor and ocean activity.
